The Digitalisation grant in detail
The Digitalisation grant (prime Digitalisation) reimburses 25% to 70% of an external digitalization consulting assignment, up to €10,000 per company per calendar year. It is managed by Brussels Economy and Employment.
Which assignments qualify?
The assignment must concern one of these areas:
- digitalizing internal processes, means of production or products and services;
- securing the company's IT;
- developing or technically improving the company website.
It must be a one-off, meet a need the company lacks in-house skills for, and last no more than 6 months. The company also commits to the responsible digital charter.
How much?
- Base rate: 25% of eligible costs excluding VAT.
- Top-ups: starter (+25% or +20%), environmentally exemplary company (+30% or +20%) or socially exemplary company (+30% or +20%), depending on size.
- Caps: 70% of costs and €10,000 per beneficiary per calendar year.
- Minimum: €500 per application, up to two subsidized assignments a year.
The administration's example: a micro-business starter combines 25% + 25%, for a 50% grant.
Who is eligible?
An SMB with at least one operating site in the Brussels-Capital Region, active in an eligible sector, with a commercial purpose, up to date with filing its annual accounts and having received less than €300,000 in de minimis aid over three years. Above 50 employees, a diversity plan is required.
What profile for the consultant?
The provider must have consulting as their main activity, be specialized in the field, have been consulting for at least 2 years, have references to show and be independent of the company. Check these criteria with your provider before applying.
What timeline?
- Apply on MonBEE at the latest the day before the assignment starts.
- Decision within 4 months of a complete application.
- Start the assignment no later than 3 months after the decision.
- Send supporting documents within 12 months, then receive a single payment.
The grant counts as taxable income for the company.
hub.brussels: free support
hub.brussels offers free, confidential support to Brussels companies going digital. It is not a grant, but an expert view to help prepare a project.
It covers a UX audit of a website or online store, an SEO workshop, a social media audit, choosing an e-commerce platform, collaboration tools and change management. The project must be located in Brussels and have an impact on the Region.
Innoviris: on hold in 2026
Innoviris is funding no new projects in 2026: no calls are being launched and all windows are suspended. The announcement dates from 24 March 2026, citing available budget.
Ongoing projects continue to be funded, and applications already submitted are being reviewed with a view to possible funding in 2027. For an AI research or innovation project, keep an eye on Innoviris announcements for 2027.
Where should you start?
Start with a specific, measurable use case: it is what makes the assignment eligible and the project profitable. A customer service chatbot, an agent that handles quote requests or automated invoicing are good candidates.

FAQ — AI grants in Brussels
Can the Digitalisation grant fund an AI project?
Yes, if the consulting assignment concerns the digitalization of the company's internal processes, means of production or products and services, its IT security or its website. An automation or AI chatbot project can fit, provided it remains a one-off assignment rather than permanent outsourcing.
How much is the Digitalisation grant worth?
The base rate is 25% of eligible costs excluding VAT. Top-ups apply for starters and for companies recognized as exemplary on environmental or social grounds, up to 70%. Support is capped at €10,000 per beneficiary per calendar year, with a minimum of €500 per application and up to two assignments a year.
Have the Brussels Consultancy and Training grants been scrapped?
They have been temporarily suspended since 12 August 2026, along with the Recruitment and Coworking grants, to protect investment aid. Applications submitted before that date are processed and paid under the rules in force at the time.
Is Innoviris funding AI projects in 2026?
Not new ones. On 24 March 2026, Innoviris announced that no new projects would be funded in 2026, that no new calls would be launched and that all its windows would be suspended. Applications already submitted are still being reviewed with a view to possible funding in 2027.
